Contact and Info for Child Safety Seat Inspections

There have been some questions about child safety seats. Georgetown hospital currently inspects child safety seats on the 4th Friday of each month in the Georgetown Hospital parking garage. This is an educational event. They instruct participants on the proper use of the seats, and insure that the seats are not recalled or broken. They do not give car seats away. They usually have seats available to replace broken, recalled, or improper seats. At this time(12/4/2004) there are 3 scheduled fitting stations in central Texas.

Georgetown Hospital parking garage on the 4th Friday of each month from 10 to 1. Call 942-4115 for an appointment.

Texas Department of Health Safe Riders Program generally conducts safety seat check ups by appointment on the first and third Thursday of each month from 2-5 pm. Call 1-800-252-8255 for an appointment and location.

The Children's Hospital of Austin generally conducts safety seat check ups by appointment on the second and fourth Thursday of each month from 9-12. Call (512)324-8470 for an appointment.
