Father was a volunteer (50 years service), mother in the auxiliary. Started attending drills and meetings at Lampasas VFD at age 10.
Became official member of Lampasas VFD in 1963, age 16. Joined SBVFD in 1994. Served as department secretary from 1997 to 2003. Voted co-recipient of SBFD Firefighter of the Year in 1999.
Voted SBFD Firefighter of the Year in 2000.
Certified basic firefighter by SFFMA.
Certified Driver/Operator by SFFMA.
Employed by (state) Texas Commission on Fire Protection as the Administrator for fire department loans and grants program.
