There is some confusion circulating on when the new insurance rates for customers in the Sam Bass Fire Department/ Williamson County ESD #2 take effect. Let me take a moment to shed some light on this. On July 29th we received a letter from ISO stating they found a Public Protection Classification (PPC) 2 was appropriate. They gave us the opportunity to protest our classification if we thought it was unfair and gave us a deadline of August 1st to state our reasons for protest. We thought it was a fair classification and did not protest. On July 29th we received another letter from ISO stating they would forward their PPC Class 2 recommendation to the Texas Department of Insurance (TDI). On August 3rd we received a letter from TDI stating they approved of the PPC Class 2 rating and that this rating would take effect January 1, 2006. Click here for link to this letter from TDI. This allows insurance companies appropriate time to adjust their fee schedule and some have already done so. All insurance companies have a deadline of January 1, 2006 to adjust their rates. I hope this helps to clarify when new insurance rates with take effect.

Please feel free to contact us if we can be of any assistance.

Effective January 1, 2006, the Williamson County Emergency Services District (ESD) #2 will have a Class 2 Public Protection Classification from the Insurance Services Office, Inc. (ISO). The previous rating was 6 for the southern portion of the district and 9 for the northern portion.
